Yet another fun opening night under OCT's belt. Go us.
The audience was the usual opening night fare - not a huge crowd, but an enthusiastic one. I have interviewed one member of the audience, and he would like me to say that he says "Go Bears". OK, not really. He really says it's an incredible show, and "really really really you must see it. Not the usual what the papers kinda say, but REALLY come see." So I guess that's a vote Yes for the show.
Things went off without a hitch, unless you count the hook on the curtain mysteriously disappearing partway through act two, so that the curtain hung instead of being hooked back.
Afterward we had the traditional pizza, champagne and SunDrop. The traditional toasts were made, kudos to the director, the stage manager, the actors, the tech crew, the mouse. Poor mouse.
I heard lots of talk from the actors about how they were all looking forward to having an audience. It's so good to have someone to feed off of, to know that someone out there is paying attention and appreciating what is done. For so many weeks, they've been working working working, and it's been a long hard road. It's a huge reward and load off their collective minds to have someone to play to.
All in all, a good night was had by all, I believe. Yaaay.
